Samenvatting:

Ethiopia and Ghana have recently defined projects concerning capacity building and institutional development in the relatively new universities of Arba Minch and Bahir Dar (Ethiopia) and the Institute for Advanced ICT studies in Kumasi (Ghana). The Centre for International Cooperation of the VU is the management unit and the Department of Computer Science of the VU the expertise centre. Staff will pursue Master or Ph.D. training at the VU or elsewhere and the design of a new curriculum and associated courses is supported. While the southern partners will obviously gain, the Netherlands will benefit by having promising internationals students in their educational programs and academic staff will have a unique possibility to visit a rapidly developing ICT environment in Africa.
