Generally speaking, France made the choice that Computer Science is not a subject to be taught in schools, but a set of transverse competences to acquire. We mostly speak about “integrating Information and Communication Technologies into Education”, rather than “teaching Computer Science”. Several plans and projects have been launched by the Ministry. And some processes for assessing pupils’ ICT competences have been established.
